The La Paz houseboat celebrated its 100th anniversary in 2024!
Completely renovated in a loft style, its 160 m² combine charm, comfort, and character.
The unique setting, surrounded by greenery and offering a splendid view of Mont Ventoux, invites you to unwind and relax, by the pool in summer and by the fireplace in winter.
The houseboat is ideally located: a 5 minute walk from the center of Villeneuve-les-Avignon, 15 minutes from the center of Avignon, and less than an hour from many major tourist attractions.
It’s also situated on a navigable branch of the Rhône River, so you’ll regularly see all kinds of boats passing by. Their passing enlivens life on the river and can cause the barge to shift slightly for a few minutes, a unique aspect of life on board.
Many species of wildlife live on the water and along the banks. If you keep an eye out, you can spot year-round herons, kingfishers and terns ; in winter, seagulls, cormorants, blue tits ...
If you’re very lucky, you might even spot the beaver, which loves the shrubs along the riverbank.
A charming, comfortable, and fully equipped houseboat
The houseboat can accommodate 4 people and features seven areas within its 160 m²:
18 m² bedroom #1 (two bedding configurations: one king 180 cm bed OR two single 90 cm beds) with a small adjoining bathroom (shower) and a separate adjoining toilet
9 m² bedroom #2 (one queen 160 cm bed) with an adjoining full bathroom (shower, bathtub, toilet)
25 m² fully equipped kitchen
30 m² living room with a FOCUS fireplace
25 m² central room with a workspace
25 m² terrace with an outdoor lounge and a pool (4 x 2 m—open from June to September)
25 m² sun deck with lounge chairs
Several free parking spaces are available in front of the houseboat.
They are located on either side of a cycle path, inaugurated in 2024 and connected to the ViaRhôna, which allows you to reach Avignon or Villeneuve les Avignon in just a few minutes (by bike or on foot).
Since 2025, the houseboat has been connected to the sewer system: no wastewater is discharged into the river.
All essential shops (bakery, convenience store, pharmacy, etc.) are nearby and easily accessible within a few minutes on foot or by bike. Two large supermarkets and a retail area can be reached in about ten minutes by car.

We live here as one inhabits a place close to the heart.
La Paz is our home; we have fashioned it into a comfortable, welcoming loft, decorated in a personal style with a thousand objects—some discovered at flea markets, others brought back from our travels.
We cherish the tranquility, the proximity to nature, the presence of wild animals, the sight of boats passing on the river, and the superb view.
By opening our doors to travelers, our wish is simple: that they, too, may immediately feel right at home.

Definitely a unique experience. We received a very warm welcome from the host. The view of the river is unbeatable. Everything you could possibly want is on board the ship. Everything was very clean and elegantly decorated. We had a wonderful time. Highly recommended.
Nicolas was a fantastic host and welcomed us in the best possible way!!! He gave us a tour of the houseboat, shared useful information about places to visit, and told us all about life aboard this 100-year-old houseboat. The houseboat... a little gem! Everything was perfect! Two very large, comfortable bedrooms, a bathroom with a great bathtub, and a huge living room with a wood- burning stove. The kitchen was fully equipped—perfect if you don’t feel like going out. There’s a terrace for sunbathing and a pool. The only downside is that we had to leave eventually! Thanks again for the wonderful time aboard La Paz—we’ll definitely be back.
Even after two days, we still can't stop thinking about the wonderful time we had on the boat. A big thank you to Nico for his warm welcome and thoughtful advice, which made for a truly unique experience—something we may never have again in our lives. The houseboat is in an exceptional setting, with a view of Mont Ventoux, close to the historic centers of Avignon and Villeneuve-les-Avignon. This allowed us to explore everything on foot. “La Paz” invites you to travel and relax; its decor is tasteful and original—you’re sure to fall in love with it. We enjoyed the fire in the fireplace that Nicolas prepared for us. We’ll definitely be back.
If you’re looking for a combination of culture, fine dining, and nature, and want to truly feel like you’re on vacation, then this houseboat is the perfect choice for you. The houseboat is very spacious and offers plenty of room for two couples; it’s beautifully decorated with unique touches and features a modern kitchen equipped with all the necessary kitchenware. The host, Nicolas, is particularly friendly and helpful and was even willing to adjust the booking terms to accommodate our changing needs.

We had a wonderful stay at “La Paz.” Everything was perfect. Great decoration. Comfortable rooms. It’s just a 15 minute walk to Avignon, and the walk there is absolutely beautiful, with a view of the Palace of the Popes! Excellent communication with Nicolas.
We spent a few wonderful days on this houseboat, which is within walking distance of both towns and incredibly peaceful. The boat is full of incredible knickknacks and artifacts, and the mini-pool was a great bonus.
Our stay was wonderful, the setting was perfectly peaceful, and the houseboat is simply gorgeous. The location was perfect, we were able to walk everywhere! We can’t wait to come back!!
